Yawa – TO bear in the Pano language. The Yawanawa are said to be bear people because this tribe is a family that has lived close together since time immemorial. Their recipe for rapé is very simple – mapacho (wild tobacco) and ash from the bark of the Tsunu tree. This recipe has spread and is now the base and basic mixture for rapé. It contains relatively little mapacho. The color is slightly gray.
